The FirstHealth Cardiovascular and Thoracic Center provides comprehensive care in the surgical treatment of diseases affecting the chest, including the heart, blood vessels, lungs and esophagus.

Areas of special concentration include total arterial grafting and coronary bypass surgery without the need for a bypass machine and valve repair and replacement. An increased emphasis is also placed on the surgical treatment of cancers of the chest in collaboration with specialists in radiation and hematology/oncology. The center also treats vascular disease with special emphasis on the aorta. (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm, Aortic Aneurysm Repair/Removal and Aortic Valve Replacement)

The three surgeons of the FirstHealth Cardiovascular and Thoracic Center, John F. Krahnert Jr., M.D.; Andy C. Kiser, M.D.; and John Streitman, M.D., have many years of combined experience in cardiovascular thoracic surgery.
