FirstHealth of the Carolinas provides 911 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for four counties in North Carolina—Chatham, Montgomery and Richmond—and in Chesterfield County, S.C.
With 62 ambulances and 315 employees, the FirstHealth Regional EMS System is the largest ambulance system in the two Carolinas, covering about 4,800 square miles.
The system, which also includes Medical Transport in Moore County, Wheel Chair vans in Montgomery and Hoke counties and Critical Care Transport, responds to more than 38,000 calls and transports more than 30,300 patients annually.
