
The FirstHealth Back and Neck Pain Center at Moore Regional Hospital specializes in treating chronic pain. The FirstHealth Back & Neck Pain Center’s physicians are anesthesiologists, who are board certified in diagnosing and relieving back or neck pain, or pain in other parts of your body caused by problems with your spine. Procedures are guided by X-ray, and sedation is used as needed to ensure safety, comfort and the best possible results.
The FirstHealth Back & Neck Pain Center specializes in back, neck, sympathetic and certain types of cancer pain and offers the following procedures:
BACK PAIN
- Epidural Steroid injections. For radicular pain, from degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis.
- Selective nerve root blocks. Both diagnostic and therapeutic. For radicular pain, foraminal stenosis and unilateral symptoms.
- Facet injections. For axial low back pain. Can help with the back in spinal stenosis or after twisting or whiplash injuries.
- Radiofrequency denervation of the facet joints. Long term relief of back pain responsive to facet blocks.
- Discography. Diagnosis discography to help determine the source of a patient’s pain.
- IDET (Intradiscal Electrothermal Therapy). A new minimally invasive therapy that can help some patients with degenerative disc disease.
- Sacroiliac joint injections. Intra-articular and peri-articular injections for this common source of axial low back pain.
- Piriformis muscle injections. Help treat entrapment of the sciatic nerve.
- Trigger point injections. For myofascial or muscular pain.
