FirstHealth has been providing high quality emergency services since Moore Regional Hospital first opened its doors in 1929. Today, it’s the busiest Emergency Department in the region. We treat more than 50,000 patients a year for a variety of illnesses and injuries including life-threatening heart attacks and critical trauma from accidents. The Emergency Department is also one of the best in the nation, earning near perfect rankings in a patient satisfaction study. We proudly serve as the main base station for an extensive network of paramedic crews that treat and transport patients from Pinehurst, our surrounding communities and many outlying areas in rural North Carolina.
At the core of any medical program is the excellence of the physician, nursing and support staff. Emergency medical professionals combine compassion with specialized training and skills to provide expert patient care in a fast-paced and intense environment. Over the years, FirstHealth has maintained a strong commitment to staff the Emergency Department with highly educated, skilled and caring doctors, nurses and support personnel – all dedicated to saving lives.
How Your Gift Helps
The FirstHealth Emergency Services CARE Fund was established to increase awareness of emergency care medicine, promote safety in the community and to encourage philanthropic support of the Emergency Department. Fund activities include issuing “Alerts on Child Safety” and sponsoring community presentations on “How to Use Your ER” and other educational programs.
Continuing education and training are essential to the daily operation of a comprehensive and state-of-the-art Emergency Department. FirstHealth keeps our nurses and support staff up-to-date with the latest techniques and procedures in emergency medicine. The Hospital provides ongoing training programs and sponsors lectures by internationally recognized experts who share new advancements in saving lives. We also send our staff to educational conferences, where they learn and share innovative ways to improve the care of seriously ill and injured patients. |
