“A place to call home”
Having a loved one in the hospital is hard enough. When it means being far away from home, it’s even harder. The Clara McLean House was built to give out-of-town patients and their families a place to call home during a stressful time.
Conveniently located just across the street from FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Clara’s House provides comfortable, affordable accommodations and other non-medical support services to families of patients receiving treatment at Moore Regional Hospital, the Surgery Center of Pinehurst or the FirstHealth Hospice. Guests are referred by physicians, nurses or other professional staff at FirstHealth facilities.
Clara’s House opened its doors April 30, 2012, with the mission to promote the healing process in a caring, supportive and home-like environment. Offering more than just hospitality, Clara’s House provides peace and privacy in the guest rooms, entertainment and information in the library, warmth and comfort in the kitchen, and solace in the Healing Garden. Staff and volunteers lend a compassionate ear, and offer encouragement and understanding. In this setting, guests are invited to interact with and draw strength from each other.
