MMH Breast Health Program

Thanks to the tireless efforts of many individuals and organizations, public awareness regarding breast cancer has never been higher. Through a unique, community-based program in Montgomery County, FirstHealth is taking steps to encourage even more women to be proactive about breast health.

The Breast Health Program features a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals who are specially trained to perform breast cancer procedures on site at Montgomery Memorial Hospital. Dennis Devereux, M.D., a surgeon who specializes in breast procedures, coordinates the program.

Too often, women endure periods of stressful waiting as they move from detection to diagnosis and finally treatment. The Breast Health Program’s staff understands that prompt results ease anxiety. Through a coordinated, streamlined approach, Montgomery Memorial ensures a timely response, reducing the diagnostic testing process to less than two weeks.

Any woman in Montgomery County who feels a lump, experiences breast pain or has an abnormal mammogram can call the Breast Health Program and schedule an appointment for as early as the next day. Typically, within 24 hours of the initial visit, the Breast Health Program staff will discuss individual options and recommend a plan of treatment.
