Volunteers have been a part of the health care tradition in the mid-Carolinas since before FirstHealth of the Carolinas—or even hospitals—existed. Because they have played such an important role in the organization’s history, volunteers at FirstHealth are as much a part of the health care team as the medical professionals themselves.

Volunteer opportunities are available at many FirstHealth locations, including FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital in Troy, FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital in Rockingham, and FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care in both Moore and Montgomery counties.

More than 900 volunteers assist in more than 100 service areas throughout FirstHealth of the Carolinas. The volunteer mission is to assist the health care staffs in providing compassionate, competent and efficient care.
