The goal of the Chaplain Associates Program at FirstHealth of the Carolinas is to respond to the spiritual and emotional needs of patients, families and the medical team.

The Chaplain Associates are volunteers who are trained to provide:

• Pastoral Counseling
• Prayer and Scripture Reading
• Bereavement Support
• Spiritual Distress Assessment
• Crisis Intervention
• Decision Making
• Medical Ethics
• Arrangement of Church Sacraments/Ordinances

The Chaplain Associates Program offers clergy an opportunity to receive supervisory ministry training while performing vital ministry to patients; their families and staff members in emergency and critical care situations as well as non-crisis settings.
