To become a volunteer at FirstHealth of the Carolinas, individuals should fill out an application, which can be obtained by calling any FirstHealth volunteer office. Each applicant is then interviewed. Our goal is to match the volunteer’s needs, experience and talents with the FirstHealth volunteer position that is right for him or her.

Volunteers have a great deal of information to learn. In addition to a comprehensive orientation, they also receive on-the-job training in their chosen volunteer department.

All volunteers are also given a TB skin test before beginning their volunteer assignments.
